Thought it worth posting that I've tracked down a rather nice location used in the 1960s ATV series The Power Game.

The episodes in question are 'Private Treaty' (Series 3, Ep 5, 4.2.1969) and 'Without Prejudice' (Series 3, Ep 6, 11.2.1969).

Both feature a country mansion doubling as the Hackton Hall, second home of Sir John and Lady Pamela Wilder, two of the series' regular characters (Patrick Wymark and Barbara Murray respectively). The house exterior and grounds were utilised in these two episodes and main cast were present for the filming (Wymark, Murray, Jack Watling, Bari Johnson, David Savile and Louiza Flamma-Sherman).

The location is Chenies Manor House, Chenies, Bucks, WD3 6ER. It is open to the public on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Bank Holiday Mondays (2-5pm on each day) but is now closed until next April.

    Then (click through to enlarge):

    Now:

    Then:

    Now:

    Then:

(I don't have modern shot of the Chenies village green, but clearly the exit to the drive seen in the episodes actually leads to the gatehouse of Chenies House (a separate, adjoining property).)

Thanks, mate. The photos aren't exact matches for the screengrabs because Alys and I went there with some of the RAHDAS bods last April. We just wandered down there after lunch at The Bedford Arms and took a fancy to the building. Five minutes there, tops. Alys took some photos (just the two above!) and then we went (coincidentally!) to St. Albans! Seven months later, the moment I saw the house in the episode, it just knew it was Chenies Manor, even though I'd probably not even looked at the photos in months. I think this location hunting thing is becoming hardwired with me lately...
