    Putting on my other hat as the Publicity Officer for the West Sussex Writers at WestSussexWriters@live.co.uk, I would like to let forum members know of our National Short Story Competition.

    There is an open theme, with a maximum wordcount of 3000 words.
    Entry fee will be �5 pounds per entry.
    Ist Prize �200
    2nd Prize �75
    3rd Prize �50.

    Crime and comedy author Simon Brett will be judging the entries.

    The closing date will be the last day of March 2013.

    It would be nice to see some film flavoured entries, so get writing all you budding forum scribes.

    I am thinking I might concentrate on a all female cast for characters this time Arfur. However, as you are aware, as usually, none of my characters will be wearing any shoes, they will also be lucky if they have their own teeth

    I meant 'usual' not 'usually' of course. If I do write the story, it's just as well I have spell check
