Just done Callan - Death of a Friend again.

Managed to get John Beardmore, Patricia Fleming, Denis Balcombe and John Preston who was UE2 not UE9. The border official at the end was UE9. There was a taxi but the driver cannot be seen. And most of the other extras can also not be seen well enough to capture a decent image. Although I did manage to get one of John Tucker. UE9 will have to remain UM21 for now.

I watched the episode 'Death of a Friend' the other day and the uncredited actors listed in Andrew Pixley's book are grouped together for the first part of the story from Mortuary attendant to hospital attendants but it's clear from the position of Denis Balcombe and John Beardmore that they are chronological so in my opinion UE2 is likely to be Peter Durrent as a 'Guard'. From the Nurse to the Taxi Driver they are specific, there are no mentions of 'border official' in the uncredited list, just '2nd Official' the 1st Official being the credited Rex Robinson, who has dialogue and is named as 'Mason'.
The other image you have of John Preston is definitely not the same as UE2 who has a very bold nose, the other image is a bit too blurred for a conclusive identification but it could be UM21 i think.

Had another good rummage through this and I think you're probably right Philly. But that means the John Preston image from The Little Bits and Pieces of Love must be Unknown Male 21, but It doesn't look a great deal like him to me. Maybe it's just my eyes. I think we need more info on John Preston. He does seem to play some kind of border official when the wanted people arrive at the port to show their passports but I suppose he could be a 'Department' official.

One of the main problems with Callan and other series from this time is the use of Video Tape. It certainly hasn't stood the test of time. Some of the images are frankly quite appalling and totally useless. And a good deal of the time the camerawork leaves a lot to be desired.

    Thanks Philly. I'll sort out.

Thanks for creating the Jean Alexander page, Movie Dude. I can help with at
least one of your Unnamed Extras in In Search of the Castaways (1962):

Left to right: William Dexter?, definitely Maxwell Shaw, Jack Hetherington?, and Colin Douglas?

But where is Peter Bennett? I remember noticing him (on the left) when I saw the film in 2013:

Merry Christmas to Movie Dude and philly. Well done with those identifications, especially Peter Forbes-Robertson.

Yet another sighting of our old friend Unknown Male 25 (third right), in last night's film Arabesque (1966):

A better shot below. Didn't recognise anyone on Sophia Loren's side but a few more familiar faces can be
seen on the escalator with Gregory Peck, including I think 'Irish John', Harold Coyne and Unkown Male 56:

I also spotted Julie Shaw at the end of the film and posted my capture at
'Who are these people?' because of her long association with the thread.

MD, your page for John Dennison seems to show two different men - one with a creased forehead and a bulbous end to his nose (all but one photo), and another man with a straighter, broader nose (the Wild Geese picture). It's the Wild Geese guy that is the John Dennison I know and is supported by my camera script PDFs. Sadly, he's not in my 53 or 68 Spotlight so I can't cross-reference there.

Ah Yes. I remember this from a while ago. But I thought it was the other way around. I've always been a bit wary of that Wild Geese image. I presumed it was 'not' John Dennison. I cant recall who said it was John Dennison and my notes don't help either. I think we need a decent image of said John Dennison to clear it up. I wonder, does anybody have one?

    Thanks Dissolute
