Thanks for those. I can use a few of them. But what is Toothy?. Is a film or TV show?. I can't find any reference to it.

    Dear Movie Dude

Sorry my mistake Toothy is the character he played in episodes 4-6 in Gone to Seed (a six part TV series)

Fred was credited as Toothy in "Gone To Seed" as Fred Wood, is this his only credited role ?

I don't know if it's his only credited role or not but I can see why if it was. No offence but his delivery of the lines is awful. Slurred and quite unintelligible. I think he was better suited to extra work. Is it likely he was inebriated?

Memorable extras from 'The Sandwich Man' (1966) in other roles

I'll come back to Barry Ashton later this week. You should find these images useful in the meantime, Movie Dude:

The first three 'doubles' are all in the escapology scene, I remember. Jim identified the chef as Red(mond) Bailey.

    2 - Danger Man - A Room in the Basement (filmed in 1964); 4 - What a Crazy World (1963);
    6 - The Great St. Trinian's Robbery; and 7 - Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 AD (both 1966).

    Very clever sightings Cornershop.

An interesting little group. I should have spotted the blonde lady. she is Unknown Female 28 and appears earlier in the film. I wonder who the Eddie Murphy look-a-like is?

With your prompting I have had a look through the notes from Gerald and Roger and have found another five which have been added to the list.

    Thanks Cornershop. Well spotted.

And hopefully the chef as well, Jim!

The African man does look like Eddie Murphy, yes. He had a similar costume in Coming to America, didn't he?
Johnny Keyes came to mind, initially, although I see more of a resemblance to Norman Beaton in this picture!:

Movie Dude, I think there's a strong possibility that this is the same bloke - and that he is Norman Hibbert:

Man on Bus in Alfie (1966)|Play It Cool (1962)

Surely Bill's brother? Ironically, I've been searching for Woman on Bus (Unknown
Female No. 10 again), who I spotted during last week's viewing of Play It Cool.

Yes, there is a marked resemblance to Bill Hibbert there, cornershop.

Yes. I agree. A definite resemblance to Bill. Does anyone have anymore images of Norman?

Glad you both agree. Bill, Norman and Sylvia Hibbert (Norman's wife) were all in Alfie, according to the list kindly sent to me by Scott Palmer.

Lou Morgan is among the cast. Is he Unnamed Extra 9 (left)?:

Inevitable comparison: Steptoe and Son (the film, 1972).

Unknown Female #10 (?) twisting in Play It Cool:

The cropped figure in front of her seems to be Rosemary Chalmers:

The Painted Smile and Play It Cool were both released in 1962.

Please see my latest post at Stars and Animals for more rare images of Rosemary.

I'd have to say no to Lou Morgan. He looks a bit fatter in the face and has a good hair line.

Unknown Female 10 could be right. Very similar.

But the last two are surely different girls. I'm quite sure the right hand girl is my Unknown Female 23. Nowhere near as pretty as Rosemary Chalmers.

cornershop 15. sorry, but they are both pictures of Red Bailey, the cap and chef, and that isn't Norman Hibbert, also I am sure that is Lou Morgan on the right..

Rosemary Chalmers reminds me of an actress who appeared in one or two horror films and whose brother was a jazz singer/personality in the 1960s.

Can anybody help me in remembering her name?

    Andre Melly (sister of George):

In The Brides of Dracula (1960).

Oddly enough, I considered #23 (the Catherine Feller lookalike) up to the moment the dancing lady smiled.
Then I was sure she was Rosemary. Here is an alternative shot, which also shows Unknown Female No. 10:

With Peter Barkworth in the middle.

Andre has recently turned up, on DVD, in episodes of The Benny Hill Show. She was very good as a Joan Bakewell-inspired presenter.

Is Norman Hibbert among the faces here, Jim? His sole credit (as an actor) at IMDb is 'Undertaker's Assistant' in The Wrong Box (1966):

I may have found more images of the actor I mistook for Norman at the Unnamed Extras pages:

Alfie and Play It Cool again + The Magic Christian (1969) and Up Pompeii (the film, 1971)
