I worked with no1. on "The Victors" 1963 we were Germans outside a pill box, we all run in when being fired upon, no1 is shot outside, I have been searching the stuntmen names, but so far I cannot find no1, maybe he was telling me fibs, when he said he was stunt double for Robert Mitcham, its a shame, but I just can't remember his name, I am sure we will get it in the end.

Thanks Jim. I'm also sure we'll get it sooner or later.

I'm still a little confused about John Lynn and Number 41. My old eyes still tell me that these are two different people.

I've always thought that this one was John Lynn

and this one was someone else

have I got it the wrong way round or is it possible that they are actually the same person after all?

Number 48 is "my" waiter, name said to be Joe, last name "something Italian." That narrows it down a lot

No 1 appeared in several episodes of Marius Goring's "The Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel", in the episode titled "The Lady in Distress" several french guards accompany Stanley van Beers character Chauvelin, the only one with a line of dialogue is no 1, one of the others is Otto Friese. On IMDb several uncredited roles are mentioned for this episode, they list as "2nd Guard" Randal Kinkead, could this be him? He has eight credits on IMDb including the Danger Man episode "Josette" where he plays Olet, also on DVD is The Count of Monte Cristo episode "The Experiment".

This is Randal Kinkead in the Danger Man episode "Josetta." A bit of a resemblance, but he seems too young in 1960 to have been the one in 1953.

It's very nice to see people trying to help me name these actors and I thank you all. Excellent effort Philly. That is a nice piece of research you did. You have at least narrowed it down a little more. And well done Dave. I had an idea that you might come up with this after looking at your work on The Actors Compedium. I see that I'm gonna have to get Danger Man Soon. Meanwhile, I've just got hold of The Avengers so that will keep me busier than ever. Oh Well! Onward and Upward as they say.

And guess what! Here's some more

He is indeed. And 53 is the same as 40.

47 can also be seen in one of the early Scotland Yard shorts.

Guess what?? I have been going out of my head to remember NO1 at last it came to me, his name is STEVE DONAHUE, I had worked with him a couple of times, anyway how about this, he worked on a film called "Man in the Middle" with Harold Sanderson and the great Robert Mitcham, got this from IMDB its the only one with his name, a war film, and he was an MP. solved at last.
As for no 47 he was in the crowd and then went on the other side as an assistant director, didn't ever see him after that.

Well done Jim. It's so nice to give him his own page. He's been number 1 for such a long time. If he was working with Mitchum and Sanderson you may well have been right about him doing stand-in work after all. Thanks for all the effort.

How about casting your eyes over these

Number 1: probably Douglas Steve Donahue, born Toxteth Park, Lancashire 29 August 1918, died January 1998 Ploughley, Oxfordshire. Mitchum was born in 1917, so at least plausible he was his double!
