Thanks Philly. I've no idea why I never remember Bernard Barnsley!

Very Important Person updates also done, plus others which I have to say were pointed out by Gerald and Simon some time ago. (I'm still nowhere near the end)

Gosh, wrong again with #8 (as I was with 83 in If ....). Not the most relable of "spotters" as far as Ann Barrass is concerned.

This lack of confidence has held me back from continuing to post at her thread. Even after three years, she can still be difficult to identify. Her appearance in Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush, for example. Remembering Ann had long hair in Quatermass in the Pit (also 1967), left, the only woman who looks anything like her is this diner, seen at a distance towards the end of the film:

Same girl? Couldn't do any better with the zoom-in.

A bit of a misunderstanding regarding the Unnamed Extras, Movie Dude. I was referring to others' suggestions/identifications at this thread. As you know, I nearly always post your images here to see what you (and hopefully a few others) think, notably when I'm comparing faces. My point was it would save us going back and forth from your site to find out what pictures they're referring to. Not that it will matter when the subjects are named on the front page. As long as we're rght! That reminds me, did you agree with my Reg Cranfield sighting in the Reg Varney play. I notice it's not been added to his page.

While you were posting your reply earlier, I was ordering some DVDs from Amazon US. One is a box set that includes Beat the Devil, Catch Me a Spy (which I saw last week on YouTube), Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Lynne Frederick), Alfie Darling (critically-panned sequel to Alfie), and The Smallest Show on Earth. Plus 45 others. $7.98 seems terrific value. Also bought a collection of five Boris Karloff films for $6.28. Still unhappy about the $17-18 prices for Eye of the Devil and See You in Hell, Darling - unchanged after several years.

If you saw them in the film and I haven't got them then by all means send the timings Phil. I have the film somewhere.

Sorry Cornershop. My mistake. But still it would mean uploading to Photobucket and then linking them all to Britmovie. It's not a job I enjoy much and I'd still have to say no I'm afraid.

I remember something about Reg Cranfield from a while ago but I cannot find the right thread or more importantly the page number on the right thread.

Still not sure we're on the same wavelength, Movie Dude! Photobucket does come into it, however, as that's where I upload pictures from your site before posting them at this thread. The idea is to make everyone see the subjects' faces here before they're moved to the front page (if identified).

Here is an example of what I mean:

#153 seems to be one of my own discoveries, 'Unknown Male 25':

A Shot in the Dark (1964) and A Night to Remember (1958)

After agreeing with my comparison, you moved the black-and-white image from the Unnamed Extras gallery to his page, leaving 153 blank. When people look back at the thread, and 'Who are these people?' for that matter, they will hopefully find it interesting to see how faces like his have gradually become more familiar.

Here is the link to what I hope you'll agree is Reg's appearance in The Best Pair of Legs in the Business (TV version):

    Very Important Person
Had a look at Spotlight, I think UE9 is Charles Clay, UE28 is definitely the credited Mark Hardy, by process of elimination UE24 must be the credited Lesley Allen, with a few lines of dialogue UE16 could be the credited John Huson.
2.23 studio audience member with pipe behind John Wilder is Robert Vossler.
3.50 TV crew behind Godfrey Winn is Pat Halpin.
12.36 German sentry on the left I think is Joe Phelps.
18.22 walking across screen right to left with pipe is Andy Alston.
36.02 POW outside hut 15 left Jack Dearlove... also
    1.15.37 he is a runner
38.15 German guard on the left is Jim Morris.
1.23.25 Hockey player who gets kicked on right of picture is Paul Grist.
1.24.35 POW in crowd causing a disturbance he is just behind Mark Hardy its Roy Everson.

I'll have a look now, philly. Only watched this a few weeks ago, after buying the DVD in Network's latest sale. Fascinating to see Unknown Male 25 "come to life". Are you sure he played a butler, Movie Dude?

What I was saying earlier ...

L-R - John Huson?, Lesley Allen? (looks a bit like Jill Melford), Mike Hardy, Charles Clay?

I will try and post the rest later today. See 'Sighted' thread for Pat Halpin.

Ah! It suddenly dawns on me Cornershop. I understand now. Though it's still too much for me to do. I'm trying to cut down the amount of work I'm doing, not add to it. And as you seem to have the knack of this please feel free to carry on. Perhaps we may also get a consensus on who these people are. Meanwhile I'd better try to find my copy of this.

Thanks cornershop, I still can't quite get used to Joe Phelps and I have a few 'Joe Phelps?' in my files, do you think it is him ?

Just some observations concerning "Very Important Person" unnamed extra's page
When I first saw 12 I thought Joe Dunne but I am not sure, opinions?
5&10 I am certain are well known character actors their names elude me ,Dave ?
7,13,20,21 I have seen before, hopefully I can turn up other examples.
11 I have not seen before but I designate him the Peter Jones lookalike haha
26 has a look of Ray Schock definitely not him but I believe he had brothers in the business could it be one of them ?

UE12: I think the chin is too narrow for Joe Dunne?

UE10: Looks a bit like Ken Wayne, who sometimes looks like John Blythe!!

In Clue of the Twisted Candle, the ambulance man is Chris Adcock rather than Alan Meacham. UE15 looks like Colin McKenzie again.

I don't really know any of the actors you've spotted, philly, apart from Pat Halpin and possibly Jack Dearlove (a distinctive upper lip). Strange that Paul Grist hasn't made any impression as I have a few of his credits, including New Scotland Yard. Maybe they were all 'unnoticed' parts?

Based on your description, this should be him - except that I
think it looks like a young David Webb (actor not footballer):

Almost finished editing the other images.

    Brilliant cornershop Thanks !
Not Roy Everson, he is behind and to the right of Mark Hardy in the frame, I think somebody is between them but obscured.

Thanks Gerald, John Blythe is a good shout, I think it was he I was trying to think of while watching.

Do you mean the man on the right?:

At first glance I thought he looked like Anthony Ainley and the other man Leslie Bryant.

OK! Great work everyone. I've added another 10 images. Not sure about the rest yet.

Great help Cornershop, putting the images up. Made it a lot easier to find them on the disc.

By the way, that does look like Reg Cranfield in the Reg Varney film.

    Thanks everyone.

    ...............

beware, I've rearanged the extras page now. Too many empty spaces.

    Plus. Who's this?
