    This should be an easy one. In the 90's I saw 2-3 sub Bond style films made in the mid to late 60s. I think the character was called Bentley.

    Not Bentley but Tom Adams played a secret agent called Charles Vine in 3 films if it helps?

    Then there's The Wrecking Crew - Dean Martin as Matt Helm and Our Man Flint (and In Like Flint) with James Coburn as Derek Flint.

    Could you be thinking of Kelly?

    That was Mike Conners in Kiss the Girls and Make Then Die, but I don't think there were sequels.

    Bulldog Drummond became imitation James Bond in two sixties movies.

    This was definately a British film, so not Flint, and one of them had an an airfield scene.

    The Adams films might be right.

    Nicky Henson also took over from Adams in the later NO.1 OF THE SECRET SERVICE.
