I'll have to check out the two middle-aged women in the beauty content sequence. I never thought of looking for Helen Goss there, I did go through all the casino scenes thinking that she was partially hidden somewhere in one of those.

I couldn't improve on this shot, which shows the older women with three of the beauty contestants (and Peter Sellers):

Based on Movie Dude's front page gallery photos, the models should be (l-r) Carol Shaw, Jenny White and Heather Lowe.

Helen Goss comparison with the second older woman:

    The Hound of the Baskervilles

Credit to Movie Dude for these two images as well ...

The other lady reminds me of Pauline Jameson, right:

Unnamed Extra 17 in Casino Royale|Doctor in Distress

As Pauline is hardly ever out of my thoughts these days it's probably wishful thinking. This was at a time when she had major supporting roles in films.

I take it that you've tried to find an image of Helen Goss from the mid-sixties to give us a more like for like comparison?

The Half a Sixpence image in Movie Dude's gallery is closest in time, Mikey, but the one I posted is a more suitable match. Nose and hairline look strikingly similar. If only we could see more of the Casino Royale lady's obscured mouth (what by?).

Did we ever establish who the models are on the cover of the June 1966 Showtime?:

I only recognise Carol Shaw (beside Terence Cooper), Jenny White (in black) and Greta van Rantywck (red). Carol, Jenny and the girl in green are in the outfits they wear in the beauty contest scene. Heather Lowe doesn't seem to be in this picture.

All this research has inspired me to put together a 'Casino Royale Diary', largely made up of original news reports. Earliest entries include "Bryan Forbes ... is likely to direct" (Daily Mirror, 12th April 1965), "Shirley MacLaine will co-star with whoever plays Bond" (The Stage, 7th October) and Peter Sellers revealing that Trevor Howard was going to play Sir James Bond, rather than David Niven (Daily Express, 25th November). Also considered for the film: Rex Harrison, Frank Sinatra and Pamela Tiffin.

Jennifer White, in the same outfit she's wearing on the Showtime cover, and Heather Lowe in the beauty contest scene:

I asked if anyone had a copy and unfortunately the answer was a no. I would think that somewhere in the magazine it would have credited everyone who appears on the cover.

Would you mind informing me where you saw the info that Rex Harrison and Pamela Tiffen were considered for Casino Royale?

Wasn't Harrison one of many actors considered as Bond before production commenced on Dr No?

Hello again, Mikey. Regarding the Showtime cover, as I've said before only Terence Cooper and photographer Laurie Ridley are credited. Sorry I can't be of more help. Rex Harrison was considered for Dr. No, according to the book The Rough Guide to James Bond:

    They could have been 007

Just located the Pamela Tiffin information for you, from my Production Notes:

The Milwaukee Sentinel, 8th August 1966 (Earl Wilson column)

With Pamela Tiffin unable to do “Casino Royale”, her dialogue will be divided between Ursula Andress and Joanna Pettet.

The Deseret News, 19th August 1966 (Sheilah Graham column)

Pamela Tiffin had to say no for “Casino Royale” because of theatre commitments in “Dinner
at Eight”. Her role was divided among the other ladies in the cast, including Ursula Andress.

I'll have to get back to you with the Rex Harrison reference. It's probably in one of my 1966 Gossip Columns folders.

To quote Carole King, or The Carpenters in this case, It's Going To Take Some Time ...

Many thanks for the prompt reply and solid information. I'd never come across Pamela Tiffin's name in connection with Casino Royale before.

Honor Blackman missed out as well it seems:

The Reading Eagle, 20th December 1965

Honor Blackman - co-starring with Laurence Harvey in "Life at the Top" - is up for a role in
"Casino Royale", a forthcoming James Bonder. Ursula Andress already has signed for the film.

I got there eventually. Stored in a 1965 folder:

The Pittsburgh Press, 28th December 1965

    Sheilah Graham again.

Very belated thanks, Mikey. I could have sworn I read, again at the Google News Archives, that Jean Shrimpton was screen-tested for a part in the film. Having lost track of the article (easily done with a number of tabs and windows open), I soon found another where it's reported she was "trying out for the second female lead" in The Taming of the Shrew! Would that have been Natasha Pyne's role?

I believe I can help with some of Movie Dude's unnamed casino girls, certainly the two 'bookending' this screencap:

L-R - Rosemarie Reede, Susan Baker (?) with Jan Rennison behind her?, Valerie Van Ost, Orson Welles, Veronica Gardiner
(behind him)?, Gina Warwick & Jennifer Baker(?) with Tracy Reed obscured behind them, Unnamed Extra 4, Penny Brahms

    Rosemarie Reed(e) comparison:

    Unnamed Extra #10|Special Branch (1973)

(I've used my own image of #10, MovieDude)

Jean Stewart should be somewhere in the casino:

Fang/Car Wash girl and Unnamed Extra #9?

    Penny Brahms:

Daily Mirror, 7th December 1965 and Unnamed Extra #61

Jean Shrimpton turned down the chance to appear in the film because she found spy films boring.

We (I don't remember exactly who) identified Rosemary Reede and Penny Brahms earlier in the thread.

Although we had Jean Stewart as a Fang Girl (in black PVC), I could not find her on the Casino set, but the Shepperton Studios callsheet I have placed her there for at least one day's shooting as the character Glory and there she was in plain sight all the time. A good piece of identification.

Glad you found her, Mikey. I presume she's the same Jean Stewart who appeared in 1960s fetish magazines?

Uncredited 'Casino Royale' actors in other roles? And with a 'Maroc 7' connection?

As you know, I identified Paul Ferris (r) earlier in the thread. The other man is Movie Dude's Unnamed Extra 5:

    With Ursula Andress, of course.

I think I spotted him the other night (left), as a party guest in Maroc 7:

Comparison with a slightly different image from Casino Royale also made in 1966.

Likewise. Is that Paul in the first picture, from The Mouse on the Moon (1962)?:

"Now here's a funny thing ...", as Max Miller used to say. Paul Ferris composed the theme music for Maroc 7. Just a coincidence, I 'spose.

Paul (who wrote the score for it) also appeared in Witchfinder General under the name of Morris Jar as a tribute to Maurice Jarre.

Thanks for reminding me about this Cornershop. I'd completely forgotten about Philly's updates, and I have changed Unnamed Extra 5 into Unknown Male 20

Unknown Male 20 (Maroc7) played Retford in The Sword of Sherwood Forest (unknown extra 20 on that films page), IMDb have kindly named him as Adam Kean or Keane.

I found a few more Casino scene stills and thought I would show them here to see if there are any new names lurking in the background or maybe some light could be thrown on previous suggestions.
I have had a quick scan through the thread to reacquaint myself with it as it's been a long time but I can't remember the Blonde lady on the right in the black dress being mentioned or the lady to her right on the first picture.
