    Lovely!

I do like this film, I always enjoy the bright colours in thise era of film too. They don't make them like they used to!

All the modern colour films I've seen look so colourless; dark and dreary compared to the old Technicolor and all have a yellowy-brown tint about them, even the outdoor scenes, where they either can't wait around for the sun to come out (because time is money), or they want to save on electricity by having practically no lighting. They look terrible!

The pages have been scanned from The British Film Annual 1949, which covers all the releases of British films for 1948.

Darrenburnfan, some great images, from the 1949 British Film Annual, do you know if Blanche Fury, is available on DVD, other than on the following DVD Box Set - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stewart-Gran...tewart+granger

Whenever I see Valerie Hobson, I can't help, but think of the Profumo Scandal.

Thanks, Billy. I bought the Stewart Granger box set some time ago and then later on was able to get a standalone region free DVD of Blanche Fury from an eBay seller in America that he probably copied from the Australian DVD, where it has been released as a standalone DVD. As yet, there is no official standalone DVD release of Blanche Fury in either the UK or the US.

It is available from Amazon as this Region 4 DVD. And the price isn't too bad for the three films included.

In the title of that page they say Region 4, but further down the same page they say Region 1

    Let's play Region Roulette

As the 3-disc set averages out at around 2:30 per disc, the quality of the transfers may not be very good. Buyer beware.

    Hi Darren,

Pretty cool thread. Love the B&W pictures that you have posted. I love Stewart Granger movies ... he has an air about him. I think my first exposure to him was "The Magic Bow, 1946" and of course "Scaramouche, 1952".

    G!
