    Hello Folks,
Does anyone remember the TV series "The Inquisitors" circa 1968 starring Diana Dors & Alan Lake? Wondered if it is still available anywhere? Charlie.

    Hello Charlie

Only a small number of epsiode's were filmed of "The Inquistitors" before LWT took the decision is scrapping the whole series. Sadly no episodes were ever transmitted for that reason.

    Sean's quite right.

Diana Dors was never one of the series' stars though Jaguar, just a guest star in the episode "The Peeling Of Sweet P Lawrence".

The other regular, along with Alan Lake, was Tony Selby.

Lots of photos on the Rex Features site - but filed under the names of the episodes - best search for "Alan Lake", "Tony Selby" or "Diana Dors".

Or search for 1187203, which is the set number, and that gets you the lot, I think.

Edit: Looking at these lovely colour images, it's easy to forget that even if it survived the programme would be in monochrome, of course.

Having read an EXCELLENT biog about Ms Dors - "Come by Sunday" I didn't even think any of this show ever got made & part of the reason was Alan Lake's drink problem .

Shame, as it sounded v.much in the same vein as the later "Avengers" seasons

Only a small number of episodes were made around about 3 or 4. Alan Lake's drinking problem had nothing to do with London Weekend television scrapping the series. An article in The Stage (9th Jan 1969) stated Its just one of those ideas that didnt come off.

So might the 3/4 that got made exist in an archive somewhere ?

After all, LWT had /has ? a pretty good archive ?

Would it be stretching the bounds of belief to hope they might (I say, might with a Capital M) be part of this big archive haul from last year (or even earlier )?
