Shirley MacLaine was a last minute replacement after the original star pulled out
Does anyone know who that original star was going to be?

The only thing I know about this film is that Shirley rented a flat in my grandparents block of flats in London while she was here shooting it.

I must try to see it.

Be great if one of the distributing companies picked this up for a release.

The Pittsburgh Press, 7th March 1967 (Sheilah Graham column)

David Niven had to say no to co-starring with Anouk Aimee, who was Oscar-nominated for "A Man and a Woman". David will not be through with "An Extraordinary Seaman", plus "Prudence and the Pill" in time to co-star with Mlle. Aimee in "The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom". Does David ever stop working?

    "And furthermore ..."

Anouk Aime was certainly in demand, Doc, following her success in A Man and a Woman. I also found this earlier ...

The Pittsburgh Press, 29th March 1967 (Sheilah Graham again):

Steve McQueen was delighted to land Anouk for his leading lady in "The
Crown Caper" for Norman Jewison at Paramount. Shooting starts in June.

This is, of course, The Thomas Crown Affair, with Faye Dunaway her replacement. Anouk signed for Bliss the previous month, despite a recent car accident.

From my film collection of stills/lobby cards I have a few stills from The Bliss of Mrs Blossom and I have uploaded the quad poster again in a larger format.

Joe, the larger format on Photobucket means that Shirley Maclaine(or whoever it is in the bra) has gone from a size D to a size F (whichever is the larger)? I'm apprehensive of posting a Photobucket image of my poster for Percy (1971) in case it attracts the wrong sort of attention!

    Rick.
