I'm amused to see Hammer planned to follow up Moon Zero Two with Disaster in Space. I thought those were the same thing!

I remember showing Moon Zero Two way back in 1970. It had the most appalling theme song over the opening titles. A terrible cacophony! It was so bad, I turned the sound monitor off in the projection room so that I couldn't hear it. Unfortunately, the audience down in the auditorium were stuck with it!

    Hi DBF,

Are you willing to post up the "Shooting Now" or "In Production" articles to http://filmdope.com/forums/br...on-1963-a.html ? We have nothing from March 1963 so it would be much appreciated.

Yes, there's a page on production and shooting now (with a photo from the set of The Scarlet Blade with Lionel Jeffries and Oliver Reed). I'll get it scanned and uploaded here tomorrow.

Thanks, if it were not for the silly postage rates to New Zealand I'd be getting a few of the cheaper issues just to contribute share here.

Not only that, Anthony, but those individual Kine Weekly's on eBay are quite expensive, especially if you want to buy, say, a dozen of them. Even the one I bought cost me around 12, plus 2 postage and packing. So if you bought a large number of them, you're looking at hundreds of pounds in cost. It'd be a dear do.

My scanner seems much better suited to scanning glossy 8 x 10 photos than magazine and newspaper pages, which are of a different texture, so the above is the best I can do with the equipment I've got.

Great double page spread poster, Stephen. It was only after the film was released that someone pointed out that Krakatoa was actually WEST of Java, not east of it. Nevertheless, the ship riding the tidal wave scene looked spectacular on our big, wide, CinemaScope screen at the Plaza (Fenton, that is, not Piccadilly Circus).

Although I have many adverts from back in the day regarding Krakatoa posted on specialist websites, Stephen's postings will bring to a readership worldwide young and old via Britmovie the awareness how tumultuous the cinema presentation world was in the Sixties. Imax-step back!!

All the cinemas above have now gone-and what beauties they were as revealed on CinemaTreasures. We couldn't have imagined their demise, whether in London, Cardiff, or Liverpool. Admittedly we have widescreen TV whereby some of these productions live on by programming. I would love to be in every home nowadays to point out the sharing was 100 times of a living room.

I apologize for the slight misalignment. It's not easy doing them in sections hoping they'll match up.

The two halves are easily joined up using Microsoft Publisher, Stephen. I have another vintage Kine Weekly on its way to me from that eBay seller. This time dated July 14th, 1960. I bought it because it has a double page spread colour poster inside from one of my favourite films of the time, The Story of Ruth.
