OK, well this shouldn't give you too much trouble. Just about the most unlikely car for a TV series tough guy, but who's?

    Thank you EyeloveTV.

I'm afraid posting piccies is a bit beyond me, but I'm enjoying this game so I'll just do it by text if that's okay?

Our hero in this series drives an old Hillman Hunter, but this is destroyed early on so he buys a Ford Cortina estate.

OK here's a tough one, I think! Who drove one of these in a TV series. No, it's not who you are thinking. The only thing I will say is that this is not the car he is usually known for but something happened to that car and this is his second one.

I'd hazard a guess at Hazell. Nicholas Ball drove a gorgeous 1975 Racing Green Triumph Stag in the series, until it got trashed by a disgruntled client (Ronald Lacey). Thereafter he drove a rather scruffy Jag 2.

Spot on Tigon Man. Yes Ronlad Lacey should still be in the Tower of London for what he did to that Stag.

Also Sally Hardcastle (Jan Francis) in the Dennis Waterman series "Stay Lucky" - she drove a nice gunmetal grey Mk 2 Jag.

........... so did most of the villains in The Sweeny , but it's the main character of the series we are interested in. Take up the challenge MartinU. They got mine too easily .

Who drove the following cars in successive years of the same series?

    Ford Transit Van, pale blue
    Austin Montego 1.6 auto, blue
    Austin Montego 2.0, blue
Rover 216 SE 1.6, dark green
Jaguar XJ6 4.2 auto, dark blue

The XJ6 was probably the most memorable of the cars. It suffered various indignities such as being stolen, raced and trashed in a quarry in one episode, and having a side window broken in a smash-and-grab in another episode.

If I mentioned a vehicle used by the other major character in the series (after whom it is named), it would probably give the game away!

I'm going to be very pedantic here. I don't think any villains in The Sweeney drove Mk 2 Jags. I think in each case it was an S-Type Jag.

Sally Hardcastle was a major character (love interest of Thomas Gynn, Waterman's character) for almost every episode of the first three years of Stay Lucky, so I'd say she qualifies as a major character.

Yes. I wondeted if I might need to give more hints, but you've got it. I wasn't sure if the references to Montegos and Rover 214s might have sidetracked you into thinking of Hyacinth Bucket's husband.

Well as I said before, we need to stick to the lead character of the series. Hazell, Hazell's car, Shoestring, Eddie Shoestring's car etc.
