    Hi to all.
This is one of those 'burning' questions I'd love to know the answer to.
Many years ago, possibly around 50 or more, I remember sitting watching TV with my mam.
The black and white film we watched mesmerized me at that young age.
It started, I believe, with a man in his bedroom. I think he was bemoaning his lot in life, and wished he could change it.
The magic started for me when two old men - or 'gods' - appeared at the top of the screen, looking down on him.
The man was trying to will his bare, dangling light-bulb to turn upside-down.
One of the men wanted to give him the power to do it.
The other was arguing it would be wrong to give mere mortals such powers, as it would lead to no good.
He was given the power and the light-bulb turned upside-down.
He was left with these powers and the two men checked in from time to time to see how he was using them, and to see who was right.

    That's about it.
It set me off on a lifelong hobby of looking to the skies and star-gazing.
I began buying and collecting weekly American magazines with themes of fantasy and mystery.
I went to university and gained a degree in creative writing, because I had so many stories to imagine and tell.
All this from that one film.
I've always wanted to know the name of it so I can watch it again, as a thank-you to its writers.

Here's hoping somebody has a good memory.

    Thank you.

    John

The Man Who Could Work Miracles is up on YouTube, but the last four minutes are missing. Not bad for an eighty years old film.

    Thank you both very much!
I've spent years trying to find it and you've done it in a couple of hours.
Watched first 10 minutes on YouTube and the memories came flooding back.
That's me sorted when the wife goes shopping.
    Thank you once again.
    Sincerely,
    John

Don't forget the Fruit gums Mum!

The Man Who Could Work Miracles is a perfect HG Wells companion piece to that other wonderful Korda production, Things To Come.
