I've just discovered this site and am absolutely delighted to find so many enthusiasts with similar tastes to my own! It occurs to me that this is the place to ask something I've wondered about for many years - the Ealing film Painted Boats. I saw this semi-documentary about canal folk on TV a long time ago - more than 20 years - but as far as I know it hasn't been shown since in the UK. Does anyone know if it ever turns up anywhere? Unfortunately I saw it before acquiring my first video player, so wasn't able to tape it. I'd be interested to know whether anyone has any knowledge about it, or indeed, just has fond memories of it as I have.

Thanks Russ. In fact, since my initial posting I did search the on-line stores and found it is indeed now available on video - it wasn't the last time I looked...
