The bad news is I don't know where it was filmed but the good news is that it's about to be released on DVD on Jan 19, 2004 thumbs_u
I watch The Fast Lady last night (a great 60s car film!) and I wondered if anyone knew where it was filmed, in particular the sea side scenes and also the driving test/car chase at the end of the film?

Probably shot around Beaconsfield.
Thanks DB7, but I'm not convinced. The area looks very flat in the film and also Beaconsfield is pretty far from the sea!
Anywhere was possible. Look at 'Genevieve'!!
Hi the fast Lady was filmed in the Oxfordshire village of Watlington.Steve W:

My present mental quest is like the above info for "the Fast Lady" excluding dear old Pinewood
Crescent.
Some scenes for The Fast Lady were definitely shot in Amersham - driving up Station Road in the Austin A40, behind a cyclist, towards Oakfield Corner and then on into Sycamore Road. From memory, I think Station Road in Beaconsfield is used when Baxter is taking his driving test with Alan Cuthbertson as the examiner. But I haven't been able to identify a third location in the driving-in-the-town sequence - the one with the County Bank and "Brenda's". I'll try and post some grabs.
The first shot is Station Road in Amersham looking towards Chesham Road. The second shot is where Station Road reaches Oakfield Corner (Murdoch Troon turns right into Sycamore Road).

The beach scenes were filmed at Frensham Ponds

The final chase takes in Beaconsfield and Watlington, as pointed out, and ends with the crooks crashing on the then unopened M4 (junction 7). The opening scenes outside the county bank were on a backlot set though. This also features in other scenes earlier in the film - the same cars driving round in circles are a bit of a giveaway.
There are some up to dates shots of those Amersham streets here:

I love this film. One of those wonderful feel good films you can watch on a dull afternoon (like today!)
Still with "the Fast Lady" anybody know the big house that James Robertson lived in with his lovely daughter?
Posted the answer to this on another thread - It's Huntercombe House, Huntercombe Lane, Taplow. I think it may now be part of a hospital.
Many thanks Cooper S, I`m still bemused how this happy band of Brit Movieters seem to know the answer to everything.
a) There's a lot of them, over 5,000 of them although they don't all post messages.Originally Posted by johnhill

Where was the location for the house where Stanley Baxter and Leslie Phillips had digs with Kathleen Harrison ?
The uniformity of the houses suggested a 1950s council estate, and it looked very nice indeed !
The house is on Pinewood Green, just opposite the entrance to Pinewood Studios. It's not a council estate AFAIK, and hasn't changed that much apart from the usual replacement doors, windows etc.

It appeared in several 'Carry On' films.
