Virginia Mayo, who I think made only one British film, "Caption Horatio Hornblower, RN" (1951), died on Jan 17th 2005 aged 84.
OH DEAR! Always like her. Strangely enough MGM have just announced the DVD release of "The Princess and the Pirate" where she co-satrred with the equally late Bob Hope.
She was GREAT in a very different role in "White Heat" as well.
Shame she ended up in stuff like "Maximum Force 2" What the hell was that all about!? Bills needed paying i suppose.

White Heat is being released on DVD in thge states. I hope they recorded an audio commentary with her.

She was my fathers's favorite actress. We watched "Princess and the Pirate" when we heard the sad news.
