My border collie is named Monty after Montmorency in Three Men in a Boat.
I used to have a (female) cat called Cary after Cary Grant and she then had a daughter whose owner called her Sydney after Sydney Poitier. Cary's son was named (by me) Boris (Karloff). They were an odd little family.

Franky was named after a "skinny little wop" called Francis Albert for obvious reasons. His cousin was named Mia. As Ava Gardner remarked dryly when she heard they were an item: "I always knew Frank would marry a boy"
