Hi all! I always liked the idea of the anti-hero and one of my favourite TV series of the genre was "Shoestring" - remember that? Played by Trevor Eve. To me in my early 20's he seemed to fit the bill perfectly, generally unkempt, gentle sort of bloke with a few life issues going on. I hope it's repeated soon so I can see if it still holds up after all this time. So, who's your favourite TV anti - hero? To jog your memory regarding "Shoestring" check these out.

For an anti-hero I'd nominate Mark Lewis in Peeping Tom (1960). There's a nice gentle, harmless sort of chap :)

"SPENDER" 1991. Not up everyone's Boulevard but I enjoyed them immensely. Solid plots and characters with great dailogue all touched by the hand of Ian La Frenais. If any series should be released on DVD this one's a must. Often repeated on satellite TV as a series but for some reason the feature length episode "THE FRENCH COLLECTION" has not.

    Good call Decks !!

BTW - SHOESTRING ; Network were considering a DVD release IIRC. Only problem being, with a drama set in a Radio Station, all those music clearances....

if they can't get them, and thus have to cut sequences, some stories stop making sense. So it may not happen
