name='billy bentley']Sorry Straff and Dane Starry, but in the early days The Twins were regularly mistaken for each other, especially by those who didn't know them well.

Wouldn't disagree at all BB, but the film will focus on their gangster activities. At the height of their notoriety, and after, as chevy points out, Ron's pills, both prescribed and recreational, had kicked in, they looked radically different:

Didn't Ronnie have a very high pitched voice. Can't see Winstone being able to keep that up for long without him looking a little stupid. Anyway, if they went ahead with the film, would it concentrate on their full lives or just the latter years? Winstone surely couldn't fit the parts until shortly before they were banged up!

Even though I had a slight connection with Kemp Bros film, it was dire wasn't it!? As an Eastender meslef, cor blimey guvnor, the Kemps portrayal of the Kray Twins was far removed from the East End gangsters of old.

But I will be amazed if Mr Winstone can pull off playing them in this new movie: he ain't the right build anymore and he's not got age on his side either! Can't we just remember him as Gal Dove - and be done with it!

On the subject of chilling actors in thrillers getting it totally right - I think Mark Strong's 'Harry Starks' in The Long Firm is nothing short of brilliant, and Ben Kingsley's 'Don Logan' in Sexy Beast is pure evilness personified. These guys got it right - but then, their scripts were top notch. The Kemps one was shite. It's only saving grace was Stephen Berkoff playin the hard East End goon: and like most hard, East End goons, you would not want to get on the wrong side of them. THAT'S what makes a character chilling.
