I am beginning to suspect you and I must be clones, Mysteries....

I see Jenny has not got her own topic yet so I will start one.
She has made some incredible films: The Railway Children; Walkabout; American Werewolf in London. Her turns in Logan's Run, The Eagle Has Landed, Equus and I start Counting are all memorable. I think it is sad that her career fizzled out so early, and it was nice to see her back in Spooks. I think if British film industry had been as strong as it was in 1960s, she would enjoy similar stature to Julie Christie. As it is, for someone who emerged during trying times, she has not done badly to produce three or four classics.

That's a great photo of her.
Obviously a very sexy lady but....maybe it's a throwback to the Railway Children...I can only think of her as being very innocent.
Dave.
That is a VERY nice photo ; quite 'of its time' too.
She was, and still is, particularly beautiful.

I saw her in a re-run of The Allan Clarke Diaries last year and it was unfortunate that playing his wife she didn't get a very big role. Even more bizarre was when she played a woman on her death bed at the very start of the recent new series of Marple. Waste of time, why didn't they just put an extra in the bed!
It's a shame that our childhood icons have to get older, but Jenny Agutter still has the looks, the grace and the charm when we sometimes get a chance to see her in a decent role!
I will add yet another innocent picture of Jenny at 17 years just for 'balance' , thanks WG for starting this page.
Wow this is one Lady that for me was and still is a very sexy woman!
I remembered her in the role she played in the Railway Children. But it was the scene or should i say the very steamy scene in "An American Werwolf In London" where she was making love to Griffen Dunne who was to be the next Werwolf? Am i right was this the guy? or was it John Woodvine? mmm I dont know any way you know the scene i am on about? MMM Naughty Nurses!
Did it for me in 1970 and again on Sunday:
Definately one of my fantasy babes................
I saw East of Sudan a long while ago but I've got a video of it which I'll view again - though I'll have to dig out a video player first!
Hello you fellow J.A. fans. Just to put a correct balance on things I feel I should mention her childhood films. There was Ballerina made by Disney and East of Sudan. I've never seen either, have any of you? If yes, how about an appraisal?
She was on the telly last night in that detective drama called Old Dogs or New Tricks or something (has to be a pun or a proverb in the title if it's the BBC) with Amanda Redman, James Bolam, Dennis Waterman ("........write the feme tune, sing the feme tune") and Alun Armstrong.Originally posted by Fellwanderer@May 5 2005, 07:29 PM

I must admit our Jenny was looking a little older than her years in some scenes, but nice to see her again! Keith Barron and Anita Dobson were in it too, and the most unconvincing trans-sexual I've ever seen (not that I go actively seeking them out) played brilliantly by Nicholas Jones. How the cast could keep a straight face during the scenes with him I just don't know, it was hilarious!!
I can assure you Jenny looked much better in real life a few days ago.Originally posted by samkydd@May 10 2005, 09:11 AM

Of course, she was portraying a wife still distraught by the death of her husband even though it had been 25 years ago. For a split second I did think we were in for a first when it almost appeared that she was going to be accused of murder but I just knew our Jenny couldn't do anything like that.
Nice to see a bunch of fine actors.
You, and all other admirers of Little Britain, will be pleased to know that Dennis Waterman did sing the feme tune - but he didn't write it. Mike Moran did that. Mike Moran also co-wrote "Rock Bottom" with Lynsey De Paul and "Barcelona" with Freddie Mercury.Originally posted by samkydd@May 10 2005, 09:11 AM

Ah but a young Jennifer did do something like that when she blasted to death the lard bucket of a yokel boyfriend in "The Eagle Has Landed"! Mind you it was set in Norfolk and coming from that neck of the woods myself I know the age old motto in most villages is "If in doubt, get the 12 bore out!"Originally posted by Fellwanderer@May 13 2005, 07:49 PM

Didn't Mike Moran first come into our lives as the writer of the Magpie childrens' ITV programme theme in the 70's?Mike Moran did that. Mike Moran also co-wrote "Rock Bottom" with Lynsey De Paul and "Barcelona" with Freddie Mercury.

The dance was I think created by Pans People and you danced out the letters of MAGPIE.
Presenters were Tony Bastable, Mick Robertson and Susan Stranks who appeared in the film 39 Steps with Kenneth Moore. (in the railway carriage as a schoolgirl).
Latterly it was Jenny Hanley and other chaps who I've forgotten.
Freddy
Susan Stranks was married to Robin Ray, son of Ted, music quiz maestro and co-founder of Classic FM. I saw Jenny H at a dinner a few years back, I think she runs a pub now. The others I've not heard of since.Originally posted by Freddy@May 14 2005, 05:35 PM

And it was in Norfolk and justified because Jenny's victim was technically a burglar, caught in the act of going through Donald Sutherland's things. Hewas rightly suspicious and didn't believe Sutherland was just an Irish marsh warden (and with that attempt at an Irish accent, not many of the audience did either)! I think I'll put that in as a topic, Worst Accents!Originally posted by Fellwanderer@May 16 2005, 06:45 PM
But she did it for love so that's alright*
Off tomorrow to see Jenny Agutter, Sylvia Syms and Simon James in Love, Lust (... And We All Make Mistakes) at Llangollen so it seemed an appropriate time to post another photo of innocent beauty:
Frank Skinner did a joke about Jenny Agutter and the film 'Walkabout'.
"All those wonderful shots of the bush."
