In the 70s I was in a TV programme entitled Just William which starred Diana Dors. This has never been on video as far as I am aware. Anyone have any further clues where I can get hold of all the episodes. Many thanks.

Diana Dors as Violet Elizabeth's mother - that's quite a cameo.

I can't see any sign of iot having been commercially released. If nobody's got it in a private collection you might just have to cherish the memory of working with the great Dors. Wonderful actress, helluva lady.

Didn't they re-make it in the 80s? Someone on IMDb says that they didn't recreate the feeling of the 70s series, but I don't agree. I think the role of William was played by a young actor called Oliver Rokeby. Can't find anything on him on IMDb.

I'm a great Richmal Crompton fan, and I may have some episodes somewhere - but please don't hold your breath as I can't access them at present I'm afraid, and they are likely to be very poor quality. What part did you play, Mr Pastry?

That's the one. And as Diana Dors was playing her Mum I'm suprised she didn't just get a good thwack around the head at regular intervals. But the character was supposed to be annoying.

MrPastry - if you appeared in the series, shouldn't the company who made it supply you with a copy? I know of actors who have done this before and been supplied with copies of their work.

Actors dont always get supplies of their workI am afraid. That series of Just William was made by London Weekend Television, and there were I think two series, Adrian Dannett a lad at Westminster school played William, and I have not heard of him in the adult acting world. LWT have issued Catweazle, and I am suprised is JW is not out on VHS/DVD. Dennis Waterman I am sure played an earlier Just William in a black and white BBC TV series.

Time Riders - is that the one with Hadyn Gwynne? If so I taped it at the time and have never watched it since so I couldn't vouch for quality but it should be okay. I can do DVD-r or RAM.
