    Hello from New Zealand...

Have only seen this film once...it is a British b&w detective/murder/crime thriller made in the early to mid-50s. A large chunk of this film was set in a bus (train?) terminal.

I remember groups of distressed passengers waiting around.

Could be a 'quota quickie'. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Richard

Was their an element of comedy in it? If yes, was it Runaway Bus (1954) starring Frankie Howard?

    Hello James

I was taken to this film as a young child so perhaps it is more likely to be a comedy than a murder thriller...but I have checked the IMDB plot summary/reviews for 'Runaway Bus' (which I wouldn't mind seeing) and nothing rings a bell.

I feel it was a suspense movie and the passengers were all hanging around waiting for the guilty party to be revealed.

It`s a bit earlier than you mention, but how about `the Ghost train`.It`s not really a detective film more of a mystery, but certainly has distressed passengers stuck in a railway station.

It also has Arthur Askey, who gets progressively more annoying through the course of the film.

    Hi.

How about MYSTERY JUNCTION (1951) Starring Sydney Taffler.

    http://www.uk.imdb.com/title/tt0043832/

Most of the film is set in a snowbound railway waiting room.

Sounds intriguing and I've never seen it. Any good Stu?

Hi. Not a bad film. Here is a breif outline.

Larry (Sidney Tafler) novelist, outlines a plot of a train thriller to a fellow-traveller. A man (Martin Benson) being escorted to his murder trial escapes at a snowbound station and siezes a gun. He proves, however, not to be the one who kills two others duing the night, though both he and the murderer die before the police arrive.

Mainly set in a waiting room of a snowbound station. Lots of red herrings and a nice twist at the end.

Shot at Merton Park Studios. Running time 67 minutes.

I think DB7 wanted to know if it was any good, not to supply spoilers.

Thanks for these suggestions. Mystery Junction comes closest tho without seeing stills I couldn't say for sure. I am sure it was a 50s film as I can remember the clothing styles. Low budget b&w and derivative. Might have come from a play as it was quite stagy. I think the killer was unmasked among all the passengers. Please keep suggesting titles!!

I wish you could supply the DVDs, too! ha ha. The worst thing is to get into IMDB and find some intriguing title, only to never have access to the film.

Where IS that omnipotent film-download-service when I need it?
