Alma lived in this Apartment block in Kensington High Street, apparently The Beatles were regular visitors to Alma's Showbiz Parties!

Not sure who wrote but I recall early 90's there was a lot of fuss and furore about a book that was published that had a picture of Alma and Myra Hindley on the front cover, Alma's Sister (Actress Sandra Caron) was very upset by this.......so was I, how can anyone put a vision of bubbliness and loveliness next to a vision of Evil.......

Alma is buried in Bushey Jewish Cemetary, close to the large town of Watford, Hertfordshire......

This is the controversial cover ....

The 'alternate history' aspects of the book may not appeal to many Alma fans (of which I am one), but taken objectively, it is a fascinating study into the downside of fame.

This is the cover of the later edition ...

This is a lovely picture of Alma ...

Ever since I first saw singer and 'Loose Woman' Jane MacDonald, I've felt she's born more than a passing resemblance to Alma. This photo seems to prove it!

Its just a repeat of the one which was on some time back. Fine however if you missed it the last time.

Does anybody else think that there is a distinct similarity (in looks) between Alma Cogan and the late Georgia Brown?

Not Jane MacDonald? Although Georgia was also Jewish, like Alma.

I watched the programme about Alma Cogan last night and, in a bit where she was singing 'music hall', I actually thought it WAS Georgia Brown!

It seems less noticeable in still photos than it does 'live'.

I'm sorry, I'm afraid that I can't see any resemblance to Jane McDonald at all.
