I'd love to see old Edgar Lustgarten again. Is anybody willing to part with copies of the Scotland Yard series they have? What are those boxed sets available from mediaclassics like?

44 for something that they describe as not commercially available (sounds a pretty commercial price to me) and of variable quality ( a scary caveat at any price) makes me rather wary to spend my hard-earned pennies. Similarly with the Edgar Wallace series (100 the pair) I'd love to see them again but not if it's like watching footage from the rocket cam in the 'The Quatermass Experiment'.

There is no quality control with unofficial stuff, with fuzzy pictures, poor VHS tape tracking, the last 5 minutes of episodes cut off etc...etc.

and as an Equity member, I object to the fact that actors and directors are not being paid for their work, but the bootlegger is charging 50 for a set of DVDrs worth less than 5.....

Interesting views Julian, no doubt being an Equity member leans you more one way than the other. You could also say if a series is never released officially anyone involved will not gain financially either.I have noticed legal dvds being advertised at hilarious prices too. So what is your view on people trading with each other unreleased material merely as swops with no money involved? D

Dr Jeffrey Kruger - MBE, Founder - Ember Records

His connection, if any, with eBay auctions and Media Classics is unclear.

I am sitting here in Victoria BC Canada and for the first time watching pristine copies of this wonderful series on a 46 inch LCD TV and it is indeed a great experience, thanks Canal and Network
