    Hi,

Can anyone identify the drama I'm on about.

It starred Timothy West(Muck there's Brass, Edward VII, fame)...

He had a misfit sort of family, with possible mental illness, which displayed itself in humor.

A line in the film, had his mother(I think she was played by Hilda Braid, (the lady in citizen smith and more recently in Eastenders as Alfie's mum, nana Moon).... but I might be wrong

saying, I'm not going to live in a condom, instead of saying a condominium...

She regularly called the building a condom...and then laugh

Someone in the family built them, no not condoms, condominiums....

I remember the script was brilliant, but can't remember it at all..., however Timothy West was definitely in a leading role.

It might of been called the wednesday playhouse, play for today, or something, which showed one off drama's.....and sadly missed today.

I can't find the film on IMDB, or play for today....

The range of dates, were likely late 70's, to mid 80's.

    Warm regards to you all.

    Korben.

The condominium line sounds very Citizen Smith to me and Timothy West could be confused with Peter Vaughn..... from a distance....through a window......if you squint your eyes a bit and tilt your head.

    Dark glasses might help too!

Seeing 'Family' in the thread title, along with Timothy West's name automatically made me think of Brass too, but the original poster, in his description, uses the words "one-off" and "drama" as well, so it could be a forgotten play. I should point out though that Tony Steadman, who replaced Peter Vaughan in Citizen Smith, was even more similar to Peter Vaughan! So is lostintown right?

In case you're wondering, Tony is on the right in this scene from Thriller - A Coffin For The Bride (1974).

Pictured with him is none other than Michael Gwynne ("Any bricks?" *)!

    * Michael played the thieving Major in the Fawlty Towers episode where he had a briefcase full of bricks!
