No Official release of this film ? and if not why not ?
Are you reading your PMs, Calf28?
Try this: http://www.*****************/cart/in...od&productId=5 This is for information only. I am not related to the site, and cannot guarantee safe purchase (caveat emptor).
The full film is on Youtube at the moment .The quality is a bit grainy and the sound could be better, but it's watchable.
I anjoyed that - had not seen it before - was it based on fact ? It was certainly an ingenious idea !
The film is based on a true story. Albert R.N. was a dummy constructed by John Worsley (19192000) in Marlag O, the prisoner of war camp in northern Germany for naval officers. It was used as a stand-in for a head count while a prisoner escaped and was used on two separate occasions. Worsley made a new 'Albert' for use in the film.
Interestingly when the film was classified by the British Board of Film Censors on 04/09/1953 cuts were needed to achieve the "U" classification.
I am also interested in obtaining a copy of Albert R.N. (hopefully a good quality copy), i would be very grateful to anyone who could help me out with a copy.
Released on DVD in April 2015 by Renown Pictures
