name='zettel45']Hi, all. My name's Phil. I'm a friend of Graeme's, who sometimes posts here under the name "GRAEME". The bloody literalist.

Interesting - and comprehensive - forum!

Finally, I wish I had some spam about my exciting new film project or a cheap DVD offer that I could insert here. But I don't.

That's BLOODY LITERALIST in capital letters, thank you very much!

name='ScarTissue']Came across the site on a google search and decided to join. Nice to see people supporting British film...God knows it needs it.

I'd be very grateful if you could check out my latest short, End of the Tour, and let me know what you think.

    YouTube - scartissuefilms's Channel

It's in two parts and runs at around 14 minutes.

Shot on the HPX 500 and featuring great performaces from Marc Baylis, Miranada Keeling and Peter Halpin, I'm sure you'll find it an interesting ride.

BTW...If anyone would be kind enough to subscribe to my Youtube Channel, I will gladly repay the favour.

    All the best,

    Rick Kinsella

    Scar Tissue Films

    Hello, Rick,

Your "End of the Tour" has excellent tension greatly enhanced by the music in the beginning of the shot. The cast turns in good performances and especially

    that of Marc Baylis.

I much agree that good British film needs all the support it can get.

    Best wishes,

    Barbara

    Welcome - from another Torontonian.

Keep a watch out for posts by a user named JamesDFarrow, he's also from our neck of the woods, and frequently posts very useful information about R1 releases of British films & TV.

    Welcome Hugh,

The other thing that might be worth investigating is the various ways that you can play DVDs from around the world. You're not really just limited to Region 1 DVDs in NTSC format.

There are various domestic DVD players which will play DVDs from any region and in PAL as well as NTSC format. They're a bit more expensive but they do open up the world market to you.

Or you can play them in the DVD player in a computer. As long as you use something like the VLC Media Player which rightly ignores any region coding. It's only a few other media players like the Micro$oft one which tries to lock you into a single region.

All this region coding is of very dubious legality anyway. It's a restraint to free trade and all the countries concerned have signed up to GATT and other free trade agreements
