I can add two credits as producer which the BFI seems to confirm:
Omnibus: Korda - I Don't Grow on Trees, Part 1 and Part 2 (1993)
and
Danube Blues (1996/1997)
According to the IMDB he hasn't worked since 1992 when he would have been a mere 57 years old. Does anyone know why this should be? I assume there's a good reason and hopefully not a sad one for such a talented and experienced director to have stopped working. Maybe he decided to go back to Hungary like so many of his compatriots and he's been enjoying a good life with his own people. In which case, good for him!

The Korda connection prog was a documentary where Sasdy followed a trail (in luxury hotel suites) for the origins of Alexander Korda, fellow Hungarian film producer. It was ok but I sensed it was just an excuse to luxuriate in hotels rather than a 'serious' documentary. The last piece of directing I remember him doing was 'Ending Up' based on Kingsley Amis's novel - quite good it was to.
Maybe Sasdy is retired ?
He's in his 70s now so he'd feel entitled to enjoy some sort of retirement. Maybe he works for Hungarian TV? The last thing I heard from him was a commentary on an MGM release of Countess Dracula, probably made a few years ago. On that occasion he was joined by Ingrid Pitt. There's been another release of that film more recently with Countess Pitt doing another commentary and I'm sure I read somewhere that she's quite damning about Sasdy. I have the DVD myself but, generally, life is too short for commentaries, I find.
