Does Any One Remember The Line "mrs Allsops' Out!" From That Film? I Believe It Was When The Children Were Playing On A Tin Roof, Near A Railway Line, Where Someone Had Just Fallen(or Been Pushed) In Front Of A Train. Trying To Re Construct The Plot, From So Long Ago. Thanks

Great film this .... superb performances from Trevor Howard and Jean Simmons and an amusing one from Kenneth More. The climax is very exciting too.

    Also ...

This is the first film in which I saw Maxwell Reed, so this is where it all started.

Watched it yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, what a good film. There were quite a few bits that reminded me of the Kenneth More version of the 39 steps, including a shot of a staircase that I sure was adapted re used in that film for the titles. Same producer and director, even same villain!!.

Nevertheless, it was excellent. It's not often that you see such a lot of location shots of 1950's England, especially of Newcastle, Liverpool and some good London shots as well.

Good to watch and set at a decent pace. I noticed it was written by Janet Green who I remember wrote Victim, and according to IMDB she also did the script for The Long Arm, Lost and Midnight Lace. Does anyone know anything about her?

It's either a Jaguar SS100 or SS90. I'm sure Automotive Historian could differentiate and confirm
