Every time I find out about wiped shows from the 60s and 70s I get more depressed and helpless. The missing episodes might not exist here but I cling on to my belief that we'll see them 'elsewhere', if you know what I mean. I guess you could say this has become my Faith.

HARBOTTLE you lucky man! You have two episodes I don't have Level Seven J.B Priestly/Mordecai Roshwald & Tunnel Uner the World David Campton/Frederick Pohl. Can't imagine that I have anything that you haven't already got you seem so contented from your avatar. Buzz me if you are not too busy...

Anyone else I only have 18 episodes of varying quality at times hardly watchable and listenable, might not be top notch probably about one or two notches from the bottom but if still interested and can bear waiting for an absolute age for me to fathom out the intricacies of DVD shrink ,nero and a dvd burner then i would welcome my first trade.

These are the episodes I have...

    SEASON 1

    01. No Place Like Earth Stanley Miller/John Wyndham Peter Potter

    02. The Counterfeit Man Philip Broadley/Alan Nourse George Spenton-Foster

    03. Stranger in the Family David Campton Alan Bridges

    04. The Dead Past Jeremy Paul/Isaac Asimov John Gorrie

    05. Time in Advance Paul Erickson/William Tenn Peter Sasdy

    06. Come Buttercup, Come Daisy, Come...? Mike Watts Paddy Russell

    07. Sucker Bait Meade Roberts/Isaac Asimov Naomi Capon

    08. Some Lapse of Time Leon Griffiths/John Brunner Ray Jenkins

    09. Thirteen to Centaurus Stanley Miller/J.G.Ballard Peter Potter 1

    10. The Midas Plague Troy Kennedy Martin/Frederick Pohl Peter Sasdy

    SEASON 2

    11. The Machine Stops Kenneth Cavender & Clive Donner/E.M.Forster Philip Saville

    12. Lambda 1 Bruce Stewart/Colin Knapp George Spenton-Foster

    SEASON 3

    13. The Last Lonely Man Jeremy Paul/John Brunner Douglas Camfield

    SEASON 4

    14. To Lay a Ghost Michael J.Bird Ken Hannam

    15. This Body is Mine John Tully Eric Hills

    16. Deathday Brian Hayles/Angus Hall Raymond Menmuir

    17. Welcome Home Moris Farhi Eric Hills

    18. The Man in My Head John Wiles Peter Gregeen

    All the very best.

I have about 16 or 17 of these if anyone wants a trade - it's a brilliant series, very high quality scripts and acting, some episodes represent the best that SF has ever got to be on television. I am very much in agreement with cornershop15, I get depressed when I think of all the great work which was lost. 'Lost' is such a euphemism, book-burning sounds rather more appropriate.

The Asimov adaptation The Dead Past is just superb. Recommended.

EDIT: lol, ghostdasher, looks like we were posting our offers at the same time.

Wouldn't have happened if we had used the Chronoscope!

    - My favourite is... The Midas Plague... Hard decision but it does makes me laugh.

The Midas Plague - that was Pohl's satire on consumerism, I enjoyed the story when I read it but the episode is very very creaky.

Time In Advance was another favourite of mine.

Can anybody provide me with copies of Level 7 and Tunnel Under the World? These two continue to elude me - Also the extant 30 mins of Black Bag.

    Happy to trade.

    Thanks for that, Cally

Additionally, if anyone has the 'play for tomorrows' that were mentioned earlier, could they pm me for a possible trade?

    Thanks

The first post also asked about "Chiller" and "Counterstrike". Are any of those episodes available?

Radio Times preview for Series 3 (4-10 January 1969)

Even I didn't realise how bad the archive status for the penultimate season is. Only The Last Lonely Man exists complete.

Some actors are easier to identify than others. That's definitely Peter Copley, top left (I've seen his earlier episode, Stranger in the Family, which was rather unpleasant). Then, clockwise: Paul Maxwell (fairly sure about that); Julia Lockwood (ditto); David Buck and Godfrey Kenton (as father and son)?, Peter Jeffrey and Donal Donnelly, God Knows (Ed Bishop and Barry Warren?), and the more recogniseable Milo O'Shea.

Stills from this article, and a Radio Times listing in the case of The Fosters, can also be found here:
