just a guess, but could it be the bbc series "citizen smith"?

This is a wee bit off piste everyone, so I hope you don't mind me asking.
I remember watching a comedy routine some years ago, involving a duo using the names of underground stations on the london underground. It was all along the lines of "We were Tooting, they were Tooting Bec" etc....
I cant for the life of me remember who did it or whether it featured in a film..
A shove in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Hoggers

It's not Helen. Thanks very much though!
Hi Hoggers, I`m not certain but it sounds very much like something the Two Ronnies would do ?![]()

Could be mate. thanks for that, I'll look into it.
The Two Ronnies famously did a cockney opera called Tooting Carmen although I can't remember it myself. It's included on their Series 2 DVD.
Starry x.

That's got to be the one then. Thanks very much indeed. I'm really grateful !

Definitely The Two Ronnies.
I seem to remember them dressed as engineers sitting on a tube. Probably scripted by Barker.
Sounded like one of his.
Hoggers, this was definitely Punt and Dennis, 2 of the Mary Whitehouse experience gang. I remember it well, it was recorded live in a comedy venue somewhere and it was a very clever story about a robbery and arrest using several tube stations. Brilliant, but I don't know where you'd find it now. Let me know, I'd love to see it again.
Most definetly punt and dennis i heard it on the radio could of been a programme called caberet upstairs but don't quote me![]()
