can anyone out there help me - when i was a kid living in north wales i watched this horror play - programme on british tv might well have been granada which told the story of a newly wedded couple who had moved into this old cottage - they had to knock part of the garden wall down to widen the gate and discovered the putrified body of a baby - from then on there were strange goings on and the play ended with the mother of the baby returning from the dead to recover her child - it has been the most shocking thing i've ever seen on a tv set - very ghostly and freaked me out - i've never ben able to track this broadcast down - has anyone else seen this classic.

It sounds like 'Baby', an episode from Nigel Kneale's Beasts.

The complete series is available from Network on DVD.

    I agree.

Definitely"Baby", a classic that turns up on "what was that film...?" threads more than almost any other!

The whole series is going at a knockdown price from many online sellers just now.

Yes funny enough i recall this very chilling episode and it was horribel i can only just remember it. There was another episode about Rats in this house and it gave me the real frightners as the palce we lived when i was a wee baby was over run by Rats and i had many of them in my room. Even as a young child living in another house when the lights went out the rats would come out to play that song by Michael jackson Ben was one number that always stuck in my mind but i will tell you the experience was far from pleasant. This was in a place called Easton in Bristol many many years ago. When i saw this series Beasts i am sure there was another episode about Rats this might have been the pilot for the series which i recall did not run for too long. I might look this episode up and get it if i can.

Rats Yuk Yuk Yuk I hate Them!!!!

As a small child in a slum near Hull fish-docks, I remember hearing them scrabbling inside the walls of the house. However, I'm not afraid of them, because in later years some of friends at university had fancy rats as pets. I now think of them as clever little animals who can do tricks, beg for treats, and have a very cute way of grooming their faces with their tiny hand-like front paws.
