I see from the Radio Times that BBC 4 is re-running this excellent Le Carr� adaptation from Saturday. Having just been watching it on DVD, I can heavily recommend it. What peeves me a trifle, though, is that good quality programmes like this are being repeated on the digital channels and not on terrestrial�

Quite agree - still, at least it is being repeated.

It's a bit rough on those of us who don't have digital TV. (I live in a private rented flat: I'm not sure who is responsible for the �rial, and can't currently afford an indoor one and a digibox). Thank goodness for DVDs. It's much the same for my elderly parents, too.
I haven't seen Smiley's People yet, but hope to borrow it from the same friend who's loaned me Tinker, Tailor… and A Perfect Spy.
