Can't help you with any copies - haven't seen this series since it was originally on.

Diana Dors appeared in the second series episode "... On Superior Persons", shown 22/03/1971. I believe that a couple of episodes are now thought to be lost and most of it only exists in black-and-white. Series two may have been hit by the infamous ITV colour strike in 1971.

I am hoping someone may be able to help me track down this series.

It particularly interests me as I spent many years in the Far East and found on my return as did Ronald Fraser the victim of a culture shock that has hardly diminished after several years back in 'blighty'.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Disappointing news, roddy. Every day, for about a month, I have visited the website lostshows.com and for each of those days I've come across at least one programme that's either mostly or completely "missing", presumed wiped. The Misfit also falls into this category, with ten of the colour episodes gone, but eight of them do exist as black-and-white 'telerecordings'. If you know the history of Timeslip, made around the same time, perhaps you'll understand what I mean.

This is lostshow's actual description of the fate of The Misfits:

Out of an original total of 13 episodes, 2 episodes are missing and 8 others exist on formats inferior to the original.

So sorry to bring you this news, roddy ... but it could have been worse (believe me).

Many thanks for the information, cornershop15.

At least I can stop looking now although I will keep a lookout for any BandW episodes which may be floating around.

I think its a tragedy that quite recent, quality television can disappear like this and yet the most awful tat go on ad finitum.

    Thanks again
