Help please

Hello all,



After hours of thinking , I decide to ask for help the question on the forum.



I am trying to remember the name of a movie (movie on TV probably). I am not sure if the movie is British or American. This movie was diffused on French TV in two parts in the middle/end of 80s.



Some definite information:

-there is the ghost of a young girl who died years ago before the story take place

-she died when she is accidentally fell in a well. In fact, she was running to escape someone (her uncle?) because she had discovered a secret concerning stolen diamonds.

-in fact the ghost wants the diamonds to be discover to rest in peace

-at the end of the movie, the ghost frighten away the bad guys and save the life of the main character

-the main character is a young girl

-at the beginning of the second part, there is a party



Now some unsure information



-the main character, a young girl, had a little or old brother

-at the beginning of the story she is spending holidays in an old familial? house. I don�t remember if she is visiting her family (her uncle?), if her parents buy the house?..

-one night she is visiting by the ghost of young girl (12/13 years old?). She follows the ghost to a grave (the grave of the ghost).

-the main character is not frighten by the ghost and they eventually become friend

-during the first part of the movie, the main character try to obtain information about the dead girl. She think that she was killed, but people tell her that the girl died of illness.

-the ghost fall in love for the brother of the main character?

-with the main character family and the ghost and the brother have a dance (she becomes real for a short while)

I think you are probably right. it could be that but I didn�t remember that the man who killed the girl was a river pirate.
