    Thanks, Freddy

I didn't know about it but have ordered a copy and will see if Jenny will sign it for me.

Happened to catch that scene this morning when I switched on the television for the news headlines and TRC was on ITV3!

Same here, I was annoyed I'd missed all but the ending on ITV3+1. Strange but Saturday mornings I always like to watch a 70's film.

I never tire of this wonderful film and when it's on I cannot drag myself away. I always get the impression it was aimed at a certain type of teenage girl (perhaps the original story was), but it appeals right across the age and gender range.
Jenny Agutter is one of my favourite actors, and in this she uses that wonderfully pure, clipped voice of hers to full effect. And of course I'm blubbing even as the 'Daddy, my Daddy' scene arrives....

...and Mark Kermode's selection if he'd only to pick one film from all those on offer this Christmas (right at the very end):

I'm still wondering how they thought Sally Thomsett would pass for an 11 year old. 13, maybe but never 11

    Hi Sgt

That was posted by Gary Warren himself. He's been having a sort out of his 8mm home movies and transferring them to DVD.
There is also a very short clip of Bernard cribbins as The Wooden Legged Golfer.

We at The Catweazle Club asked if he had any from the time he spent at Brickendon shooting the series. He did but it's only shots from his dressing room window of the balloon inflating from the vrey last episode.

If anyone is interested, a booked was published in November called The Making of The Railway Children written by Jim Shipley. It was first published in 2010 for 40th anniversary but updated after Jim contacted me because as my friendship with Gary.
I got 2 copies autographed by 5 members of original cast - one for the author and one is mine. I may be putting it on e bay to raise funds for The CW club in the Spring. If anyone is interested then let me know and I will alert you as to when I will auction it.

You know I've never watched this one. It seems to be on TV (Sky anyway) all the time. I caught a glimpse of it on TV over Christmas, but it was already half way through so I didn't stick with it. Reading some comments here has really motivated me to track this one down.

It's definitely worth it. A beautiful film and a classic.
