Sounds very similar to the brilliant La Salaire de la peur (1953, aka The Wages of Fear), but that was French, and it was oil, rather than beer.
Hi All
I was hoping for some advice on an old British film's title / details.
The plot involved a couple of enterprising blokes who ship a lorry-load of beer to tropical Africa, in the hope of sales to the locals...There are many setbacks/ crashes on unmade roads, etc., during which time the beer stock levels diminish...
I'm fairly certain that it's Not "Ice-Cold in Alex"..., but noone here seems to have ever heard of it...
I would be grateful for any advice / ideas at all.

A quick Internet search turned up The Big Gamble (1961). It's a US film, but it seems to fit the bill otherwise.
