Codename Kyril (uncut?)

Codename: Kyril (1988) (TV)



Hi all. I've pretty much given up hope of ever finding this, but you guys seem to know your stuff. If I ever track it down anywhere, this seems like the most likely place.



Codename Kyril was a late-eighties spy serial starring Edward Woodward, Denholm Elliott, Joss Ackland, Richard E. Grant and Ian Charleson (Eric Liddell in Chariots Of Fire). I remember being blown away by it as a kid, but the only scenes that I can freely bring to mind are one where some guy was crucified in an attic with barbed wire, and the series climax where someone - Kyril, I think - gets shot by the gun his enemy has hidden in his pocket, even though his enemy is standing with his back to him.



There are a few VHS copies, ex-rental by the look of it, floating around on Ebay and the like; but it looks as though they're a version that was cut down from ~4 hours to ~1.5 hours for American TV. I can't imagine it's come through that degree of brutalisation looking to good, and I really, really want to get hold of the uncut version.
