This list might help: Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) - Movie connections
Ok here's a question that is puzzling me. The film is American, and I think 1940s/50s. It was a B/W film and all I can remember was that this huge house had the sound track from "The Sands Of Iwa Jima" played loudly in the gardens whenever intruders were about? I seem to recall one policeman telling the other what it was.

Is it actually the soundtrack from the film or is it the American Marines' hymn ("From the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli") - which is used in the soundtrack of Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) - and Halls of Montezuma (1950) and various other films about the US Marines.
Steve
No Steve, it is actually the sounds of battle from the film. I remember the one cop telling the other that this rich guy had it rigged to play the soundtrack, as well as searchlights coming on in the grounds!
