I have been really looking forward to this film but I see the two main actresses are American. Ok, no offence to Americans but ,again there is so much British talent out there itching for work, why not choose the British over Americans if it is set in England and the person comes from England(ok, I would accept a slight Netherland twang as her connection was also there) ?I just dont understand.

Is it all about the Americans putting money into the British film industry again or what?

I agree, it looks like a good film but shame it isn't more British...

Jonathon Ross gave this a real slating on Film 2008 last night.Apparently the Boleyns are given modern dialogue and values which realyy makes the whole idea of the film redundant.Once again Americans reinventing our history.

Bearing in mind the number of British actors making a good living in the states putting on Yank accents at the moment I don't have a problem with importing a few American over here.

If you didn't know Kevin McKidd in the recent series Journeyman was Scottish, you'd never guess from his note perfect accent, and American audiences thought Hugh Laurie was one of theirs until he spoke in his normal voice when House won an Emmy.

Well both me and the Mrs really liked it.

I'm usually really anti any Americanization of British history, but I found it very dark and brooding. If you ignore the Hollywood perfect teeth, it did seem to have an authentic Tudor feel to it and the scheming and back stabbing that went on in those days was quite convincing.

If your into Bruce Willis special effects and Rambo blood and guts, forget it ....you will be bored rigid.
