with a sort of replay of the Loneliness of the Long Distance runner, and a female soprano has to step in and finish the piece

It struck a tremendous chord with me, as I'm an old lag from a cathedral choir and I sang the Faure, not as a soloist but with the other croakers and squeakers in the stalls.
