This cracking action film has a superb theme by Walter Stott, who also arranged much of Scott Walker's stunning solo work in the 60s. It even out-Bonds most Bond themes!

(S)he also did the percussive jazz number that Moira Shearer dances to in Peeping Tom and was the arranger and musical director on Michael Powell's Luna de miel (1959) [aka Honeymoon]. She was still a he at the time but I wouldn't have thought a little thing like that would have put Powell off. He was used to working with unusual people

Worth noting that (s)he also composed the famous ATV jingle.

Sadly she passed away early 2009.

I agree that When Eight Bells Toll has a terrifif (if OTT) score. I don't think it was ever cmmercially released, more's the pity. I'd buy it on CD.

Its also a pity that it didn't seem to lead to a great deal more film work for her.
