Yesterday evening I had the misfortune to watch the Charlotte Church Show on CH4. I was stunned by the foul mouthed antics of someone who was once described as 'the voice of an angel'. It was as if she was suffering from tourettes. Every other word was "f".

Probably what made it worse was that her guest was the equally foul-mouthed Jonathan Ross and I had the distinct feeling they were engaged in a swearing competition.

If there is an example of British television sinking to an all time low then here it is clearly, and audibly, displayed.

I prefered her when she was a voice of an angel, and took a similiar career with a better degree of success. She is one of those who you can't think of suitable place to put her,but put her anywhere instead.

If the lovely Katherine Jenkins was given a chat show, I'd definitely tune in every week.

    I agree.

Obviously though the executives at CH4 are not of this opinion.

In a world/country where you cant leave your children out of your sight for fear they will be abducted, stabbed or shot. Where old people live in fear of being mugged or murdered. Where you daren't look sideways at a gang of yobs for fear of being beaten to death. I ask you does a bit of swearing really hurt anyone?

I think she is a down to earth Welsh girl who is doing well for herself.

Its showing people like that on our tv`s that lets teenagers think they can treat other people badly and with little or no respect in the first place.

There's a big difference between "Down to Earth" and common (I personally think she's the latter ) and I don't think she's doing Wales any favours Dai

I have never seen the Charlotte Church show, but I think she is a total bore, I cant stand all these celebs, who are more famous for being famous and have no artiistic value.

I have no children but if I did I would be seriously worried if their role models would be the likes of Charlotte Church and God, forbid, Amy Winehouse.

Thank goodness for Katherine Jenkins she looks the part acts the part and is a better ambassador for Wales.

Charlotte is a fine singer, but she really is trying to be something she ain't,and if she is using the bad language as reported, then she is failing. As much as I like Wossy, even I must admit he is resorting too much to bad language. It can be funny,it can be applicable at times, but when it comes as a stop gap for lacking prowess in the use of the English language,it is just being bone idle.

Am I right in thinking (and its just a hunch mind you) that I can't interest any of you in becoming members of the Charlotte Church fanclub?

I agree with you Dai. The girl's done good, let's face it. OK, I don't like people who just use swear words like they're adjectives, and every ten seconds, but Charl is down to earth and has a good sense of humour. I'm not an opera fan so I much prefer her singing pop.
