WWII film/s

I'm not sure if this is one film or two but a couple of scenes have been going through my mind and I simply can't identify the film/s as I can't place any other scene in either film.



1 Line of allied and German soldiers pass one another in opposite directions on either side of a stone wall at night - raining?



2 Allied soldier mistakes an identifying "frog" clicker - it's actually the bolt being retracted on a German soldier's rifle.

The first scene looks appalling and doesn't work on the cropped version of the film or the pan and scan version on TV.
