Sounds a bit like Michael Mann's The Keep.
Its set in ww11, either nazi or british soldiers are in a bunker, they pull back a stone and theres and camera pans back to show a huge hidden something of some kind and they are attacked by something. not to be confused with asimilar film where they are in a bunker and they become possessed or something
Sounds a bit like Michael Mann's The Keep.
Yes, obviously not set in a bunker but that track or dolly back (or is it a zoom out?) in THE KEEP is a memorable shot, though it needs a big a screen to do it justice.
I'm guessing that the other film referred to is the 2001 film The Bunker with Jack "This Life" Davenport and Jason "Lock, Stock" Flemyng.

I think the one you're definitely ruling out is Deathwatch from 2002 with Jamie Bell and Andy Serkis, but it might be worth another look just in case...

I still think it sounds more like The Bunker. Deathwatch was set in a first world war trench rather than a second world war bunker.
I think I would second "the keep"

The Keep has hugeness and a big monster. The Bunker has no monster, and is more like a possession-type film. The recent film The Outpost is set in a bunker and has nazi zombies attacking, but it's a more modern setting.

Yes, that's The Keep. Most memorable scene, still makes me shudder watching it on my old video tape.
Yes, The Keep, one of the early directing efforts of Michael Mann.
Yes it's the Keep. An early directed effort of Michael Mann, featuring a score by Tangerine Dream. Most of the Germans were played by British Actors, though unlike The Bunker an attempt at accents was made. Gabriel Bryne turns up later playing an unsavory SS officer.
I enjoyed "The Keep," but not nearly as much as the original novel by F. Paul Wilson. A fantastic read imo.![]()
I'm pretty sure you are talking about the KEEP, great movie. Deathwatch and Bunker were also pretty decent for their budget. You may also like a newer movie called Outpost as well. Thank you.
