    Dear All,

    Could anyone enlighten me as to the names of two actors in David Lean's version of Dr. Zhivago. They both appear only once, during the scene where a column of troops encounters a group of wounded/deserters. The two characters are;

    1) The elderly and pompous officer on the horse who is beaten to death.

    2) The younger officer who stands on the barrel and tries to rally the men, before being shot.

    Rather morbid I admit, but this has interested me for years.

    Best wishes,

    Jonathan

    Dear Wearysloth,

    I think that you are right. Roger Maxwell is listed as 'Beef-Faced Colonel on the IMDB, which describes the character quite well. I think that the other actor might be Virgilio Teixeira.

    Best wishes,

    Jonathan
