Vicar of Dibley repeats

Could BBC 1, please stop repeating The Vicar Of Dibley, a charming series in small doses, but I am getting fed up of constant repeats, it was on tonight.



I am sure nobody would object to a rerun of Fawlty Towers at prime time on BBC1,instead of it languishing on UK GOLD.



Also fed up of constant re-runs of My Family as well.

Well the one they repeated tonight, where Darcey Bussell dances with Geraldine, I could watch every week. Maybe interspersed with Kylie at the village fete and the nativity play where Alice goes into labour





As for My Family, I was fed up with it from the very first episode the first time around.

What I've never understood about the seemingly endless drove of repeats is; if fans of this show, or indeed any show, are that keen to get their next fix, why not just go out and purchase the entire series on DVD? They can then sit at home and watch episode after episode to their hearts content.

They should run a special consisting of just the joke at the end. Poor Alice has me in tucks every time.

Emma Chambers' character Alice is one of my favourites not only from the programme,but in comedy.

The Vicar Of Dibley was very good IMHO,and a lot better than some others.

What is the delectable Emma Chambers doing these days?

"Vicar" is on every Saturday on Kansas City Public Television (along with "Keeping Up Appearances," "From May To December" and "As Time Goes By.") It's a good show, but they've been through the entire series several times already. Personally I wish they'd replace it with either "Blackadder" or "The Royle Family."



BTW as far as repeat viewings go, "From May To December" is getting really painful imo.

True. However, if the fans of this show, and the other ones mentioned, were not to watch these repeats, the BBC would be aware of the declining number of viewers and they might have to invest in new programmes. This would probably at the expense of Wossy's gargantuan salary - no hold on a moment, no I can't envisage that because, as far as the BBC is concerned, the sun shines right out of his voluminous porthole.
