it might be Running Loose (1986/1988) - (2 seasons) which i found in this book that i have - The Hill And Beyond Children's Television Drama - An Encyclopedia.
I have been trying to find out the name of a ITV Children's programme I watched around 1986/1987. It centred around a group of kids (possibly in their early teens) who are either part of an orphanage or who are from underprivaledged backgrounds. They are looked after by a middle aged man who drives them around in a van/mini bus to the countryside/events in most episodes.
I remember one of the girls looking very distinctive in the fact that she was mixed race and had freckles and reddy brown affro hair.
Sorry to be vague, but if anyone can find this show I would be most appreciative as it's really doing my head in.
