    Hi.

This might be a daft question but I have to ask it. At the interval in the theatre a

curtain comes down and written on it are the wards Safety Curtain. Whats that for and why do we need a safety curtain are we in some kind of danger? lol

A safety curtain is a fire retardant material in case there is an accident back stage to allow patrons to exit. It is required by law to have one by the fire authorities and certified. Non compliance will cause the theatre to be shut down.

And it usually has to be lowered at each performance to prove to the audience that it works.

On a lighter note...............I went to see Monty Python at Drury Lane back in the 70's. There were two curtains lowered art the end of the performance.

First the one required by law and a second which said "PI$$ OFF"
